Home study is a special way to learn which allows you to work in your home/workplace without attending classes. It allows you to control your rate of progress on your time schedule. This can be done to earn Continuing Education for your Certificate Maintenance. |

SPECIFICALLY, WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO?

You select the course offering which meets your professional needs. Materials, including the Textbook, Multiple Choice Test and Course Evaluation Form, are sent to you to complete. |

HOW MANY QUESTIONS ARE THERE, AND DO I HAVE TO ANSWER ALL CORRECTLY?

The number of questions on course tests may vary, depending on the number of hours awarded. All answers are found in the Textbook, and you must answer 75% correctly to earn credit. |

WHY IS THERE A DIFFERENCE IN THE AMOUNT OF CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS WHICH CAN BE EARNED FOR SOME OFFERINGS?

The certifying agencies determine the number of continuing education credits/hours which can be awarded. |

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF HOME STUDY?

Certificate Maintenance is quick, easy and inexpensive. There are no travel, food or hotel expenses to pay. You select your time frame for study, and you save valuable time too spend with your family or on productive work. |

HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE THE HOME STUDY COURSES?

Except as otherwise noted, courses are pre-approved through 12-31-08, for CCM, CDMS, CRC, CVE, and CWA. |

WHAT IS A "CLOCK HOUR" / "CONTACT HOUR" / "CEU"? |
| A. |
Clock hours and contact hours are the same and agencies approving our programs use these designations for hours of credit earned. A CEU (continuing education unit) is a different method of awarding credit earned. One CEU equals 10 clock/contact hours. |
